House of Fates: what we know about the Battle of Fates spin-off, and what a fate reader actually does
5 min read · for fun & self-reflection ·
House of Fates (working title, as reported) is the announced Disney+ spin-off of Battle of Fates, the 2026 Korean competition that put 49 "fate readers" in one hall. It is not an official second season. Reports describe a travel and ritual format led by the original show's top readers, with no premiere date confirmed as of this writing.
This page keeps the facts in one place and updates when Disney+ announces more. The second half explains the part most coverage skips: what a "reading" in a show like this actually is, and where saju fits.
Sajoo is not affiliated with Disney+ or the producers of Battle of Fates. This page summarizes public reporting; dates and names are as reported, not confirmed.

How it differs from Battle of Fates
Battle of Fates was an elimination contest: 49 readers from shamanism, saju, tarot, and face reading were tested on the accuracy of their readings over ten episodes (February to March 2026), and it became the most-watched Disney+ title in Korea. House of Fates drops the scoreboard. The reported premise is closer to a guided journey: the readers host, the guests experience.
That shift matters for what you will see. A contest shows readers under pressure; a journey shows the practices themselves, including shamanic ritual (gut), which is a different thing from a saju chart.
What a "reading" on the show actually is
Korean fate reading is not one tradition. The show's four kinds work in different ways, and the difference is the most useful thing to know before watching.
- Shamanism (mudang, also called manshin): a person acts as a medium through rituals and spirit communication; not reproducible by someone else.
- Saju: a chart computed from your birth year, month, day, and hour; the same birth data gives the same chart to any reader; the reader interprets.
- Tarot: cards drawn in the moment; the reader and the spread shape the result.
- Face reading: facial features read for temperament. Sajoo does not offer it.
Saju is the one of the four you can check for yourself. Its mechanics (the stems and branches, the five elements, the day master) are shared across East Asia and are known as bazi in Chinese; what differs is the Korean way of reading them. If a guest on House of Fates hears "you are a Yang Fire day master," that line was calculated, not channeled.

FAQ
- When does House of Fates premiere?
- No date has been announced. A May 2026 report expected late 2026 or the first half of 2027. This page is updated when Disney+ confirms.
- Is House of Fates season 2 of Battle of Fates?
- No. It is a separate spin-off with a travel and ritual format, not a competition.
- Who hosts House of Fates?
- Reports name the original show's top three readers, with other contestants appearing. Disney+ has not published a cast list.
- What is a fate reader?
- An umbrella word the show uses for four traditions: shamans, saju readers, tarot readers, and face readers. They do not work the same way.
- Can I get the kind of reading the guests get?
- The saju part, yes: a chart is calculated from your birth date and time, and you can see yours free on Sajoo. Shamanic ritual is a different practice and not something a website provides.
